Coalmine Record's delivers what I believe to be the second single from their upcoming 10 year anniversary compilation album "Unearthed." The song is called "Show Stoppa" and features none other than New Jeruz emcee El Da Sensei (from the legendary hip-hop group Artifacts) rocking over a head nodding instrumental with cuts by DJ Devastate. After you check out the track, make sure to peep the first single, "Get Down", which features Pharoahe Monch bodying an ill M-Phazes instrumental. "Unearthed" is scheduled to drop on May 13th.

Marchitect (from the hip-hop group The 49ers) just keeps coming through with that dope shit and just released another solo EP a few days ago. The EP is called "Genki" and features the Yaheard Records emcee doing his thing over production from Japanese producer Shrimp as well as instrumentals by Marchitect himself. He recorded the project while on tour in Tokyo and describes the meaning behind the title of the EP as
"In Japanese genki means supreme, healthy, and good. If you woke up made a fresh beat, ate a fresh meal, then jogged around the block three times, yeah you were feeling genki... I boxed 4 rounds in the gym, and then took the album cover photo.

The song features the Miami-based rapper teaming up with Long Island hip-hop artist Hus Kingpin as both emcees kick some rhymes over a mellow Tape Roc instrumental that should definitely get your head nodding. "Florida Orange Juice" is set to feature guest appearances from Hus Kingpin, Skyzoo and Sha Stimuli as well as production from Pro Era producer Chuck Strangers (who dropped a crazy collaboration project with Hus Kingpin earlier this year). Mississippi emcee Big K.R.I.T. comes through with what is being billed as the first official single off of his upcoming sophomore album "Cadillactica." The song is called "MT. Olympus" and features K.R.I.T. ripping a cinematic instrumental that lives up to its lofty name. The beat is crazy and K.R.I.T. sounds great over it, touching on everything from being named in Kendrick Lamar's "Control" verse to addressing his haters. "Cadillactica" is set to be released this fall via Def Jam Recordings. If this song is any indication of what K.R.I.T. has in store for us, the album is going to be fire.

The first session (above) features Reverie performing a dope unreleased track off of her upcoming project that features production from Veneno Eztayla from Colombia. Brownsville hip-hop duo DaVillins (consisting of Rim and LP) dropped their latest mixtape, "Broken Eggz", a few months back and I just now got a chance to check it out. The tape is dope and is centered around that Golden Era boom-bap sound that I'm such a huge fan of, with PF Cuttin providing the mix and cuts throughout the project and Sean Price hosting. Melanin 9 - Colors



Triple Darkness emcee Melanin 9 just released some visuals for his track "Colors", which is produced by Loop Holes and is taken from his upcoming "High Fidelity" EP. The EP is actually a re-release of some of the songs from his 2007 mixtape of the same name, which you can listen to below. "High Fidelity" is due out on May 31st via M9's own Red Snow label.

Triple Darkness emcee Iron Braydz comes through with some visuals for his track "Rambo", which is the latest single off of his recently released "Verbal sWARdz" EP. The song features Braydz and guests Kyza and Skriblah spitting rhymes over a head nodding instrumental with a prominent vocal sample and boom-bap drums. While it's not my favorite song on the project, the song is still quite good and is a nice taste of what to expect on the full EP. Portland producer Phoniks just released his latest project, "The Instrumentals: Volume 1", over on his Soundcloud page and its really dope. The beats are real jazzy and soulful and are sure to get your head nodding. If you like what you hear, make sure to check out the album he released with Newport News, VA emcee Awon last year, "Return To The Golden Era".

Prince Po and Oh No - Smash (ft. Pharoahe Monch and O.C.)



Organized Konfusion's Prince Po released a collaborative album with Oh No back in early February and it was pretty dope. The album is called "Animal Serum" and featured Po spitting fire over a bunch of head nodding instrumentals with all production being handled by Oh No himself. Today we get some visuals for the latest single from the project in the form of the track "Smash", which features hip-hop legends Pharoahe Monch and O.C.

KVH - For The Soul I Was Craving (ft Ed Rowe)


Kyiv, Ukraine hip-hop producer KVH just dropped off a new track from his upcoming collaboration album with Ed Rowe, which is currently set for a fourth quarter 2014 release. The song is called "For The Soul I Was Craving" and its fire. Also included is an instrumental track, titled "Briefly Encounter Soul", which features a soulful sample layered over head nodding boom-bap drums.

While hip-hop is KVH's main focus at the moment, he is a jazzer at heart who derives much inspiration from the greats of that genre. His influences in hip-hop include the likes of 9th Wonder, Dilla, Exile, Dj Premier, and Madlib. The song is called "Knight Lyfe" and features Norman spitting bars over a smooth Joe Rock instrumental while Ja-Nay Davis provides some soulful vocals on the chorus.

M.O.P and Uncle Murda - Back Block


Hip-hop producer Boola comes through with a hard-hitting track featuring M.O.P.'s Billy Danze and Lil' Fame as the legendary duo team up with Uncle Murda and all three emcees spit fire over the beat. The song is the first installment in Boola's upcoming "Produced By Boola" series.

Ayatollah - Be Real Black for Me


"Be Real Black for Me" is the latest album by hip-hop producer Ayatollah. The album features guest vocals from Anthony Hamilton, Inspectah Deck, Silent Knight and Jered Sanders with Tollah holding it down solo on the production side. Chapel Hill, NC hip-hop artist SkyBlew returns, this time with the second single from his upcoming album with hip-hop producer Backdraft. The song is called "Nefelibata", which is defined as 
"a Portuguese word derived from “nephele” (cloud) and batha (a place where you can walk). It is one of its kind. It doesn’t have a kindred soul. A Cloud Walker, one who lives in the cloud of their own imagination or dreams, or one who does not abide by the precepts of society, literature, or art; An unconventional, unorthodox person.....ME! So, basically I am the Nefelibata.... the 'CloudWalker'"
Very nice. As far as the album goes, its titled "Journeys In 1st Person" and should be coming soon.

"Abstract Island" is the latest album from New Jersey hip-hop artist Manni Festo. The album features guest vocals from Con Leche, Melanie Shark and Anjimile and is fully produced by Manni Festo himself, with additional instrumentation from Jeremy Christian, Drew Wilcox and Kathleen Fownes. String Theory - The Art of Rap (feat. Halfcut)



String Theory is a group consisting of Epidemic's Hex One and Swedish hip-hop producer BBZ Darney who released their first self-titled album back in late March. The album is really dope and has spawned three singles thus far, the latest of which is "The Art of Rap." This was one of the standout songs on the album for me and it features Hex One teaming up with Canadian emcee Halfcut as both emcees spit fire over a head nodding BBZ Darney instrumental. Make sure to check out the full album below after peeping the video. If you are a fan of that classic boom-bap sound you wont be disappointed.

Ed Rowe - On Clouds 9


Ed Rowe released his latest project, "On Clouds 9", a few days ago and its really good. The album features the Atlanta based emcee spitting rhymes over nine of his favorite instrumentals from Apollo Brown's incredibly dope "Clouds" instrumental album. Very nice. Peep it below.

Wu-Tang Clan's Raekwon just posted up another track on the Ice H20 Records Soundcloud page, hopefully helping to hold his fans over until he releases his upcoming "F.I.L.A." album. The song is called "The Living Room" and features Raekwon spitting a freestyle over a soulful instrumental comprised of two different beats. Nice.

Merc Versus - Crispus Attucks (prod. by Falling Down)


Indiana emcee Merc Versus reunites with Killarmy producer Falling Down for the first single from their upcoming second collaborative project. The song is called "Crispus Attucks" and features Merc Versus doing his thing over the upbeat Falling Down instrumental while DJ Spoolz of The ProForms provides some cuts to tie it all together. Nice.

Henny B - Breathe Again


Chicago emcee Henny B and Virgina based producer King Mickey come through with their collaborative EP, "Breathe Again." The project is produced entirely by King Mickey and had my head nodding the whole way through while Henny B (and guest Chris Cap) held it down nicely with the rhymes. Peep it below.

Big Ben and Kostia - Straight From Da Couch


French beatmakers Big Ben & Kostia just dropped off their collaborative album, "Straight From Da Couch", which features hip-hop instrumentals "deeply influenced by the 60's and 70's Soul and Jazz music as well as the 90's Golden Era." The album is just not straight up instrumentals, however, as it also features few guest appearances from two rappers, a female singer and two DJs. Peep it below.

E-Turn and SPS - Lucid



Hip-hop artist E-Turn and DMC USA Champion SPS come through with some visuals for the fourth single off of their debut album, "Dark Trust." The track is called "Lucid" and features E-Turn spitting some ill rhymes over a head nodding Swamburger instrumental while SPS cuts it up on the chorus. "Dark Trust" is out now and can be copped over on the groups website.

Hubert Hayes - Dopeness


Hip-hop artist Hubert Hayes returns, this time with his full mixtape, titled "Dopeness", which features the Columbus, OH emcee spitting over a variety of instrumentals.. Peep it below or head on over to DatPiff and download it for free.

Supastition - Nothing Like It



Hip-hop veteran Supastition is back yet again, this time with a video for the track "Nothing Like It", which is an ill joint from his recently released "Honest Living" EP. The song is produced by German producer Croup (who actually produced the entire project) and Supastition rips it, kicking some positive rhymes about bettering yourself and giving thanks to the most high. Very dope.

Iron Braydz - Verbal sWARdz


Triple Darkness emcee Iron Braydz just released the full album stream of his upcoming EP, "Verbal sWARdz", which is set to drop on April 14th. The EP features guest appearances from Sean Price, Prince Po, Cyrus Malachi, Solar Black, Ray Vendetta and others as well as production from Iron Braydz, Ringz of Saturn, Daniel Taylor and others and its real dope. Grindhouse Gang - 730 (ft. Canibus)



Grindhouse Gang (consisting of Mark Deez, Powder aka Casey Jones and Dr. iLL) are gearing up to release their second album, "3 Assassins", on April 15th and actually dropped the second single from the project a few days back. The song is called "730" and features Canibus, with production from Grim Reaperz and scratches from Judder. The album will feature production from Powder aka Casey Jones, Snowgoons and legendary hip-hop producer Stoupe The Enemy of Mankind (formerly of Jedi Mind Tricks) as well as guest verses from Canibus, Young Buck, Blaq Poet, Block McCloud, King Magnetic, Hell Razah and others. Killah Priest - New Reality (Video)



Killah Priest comes through with some new visuals for his track "New Reality", which is one of the bangers from his "Psychic World of Walter Reed" album that dropped back in February of 2013. This joint was one of the best songs on the album for me, with Priest spitting his usual deep rhymes over a head nodding Jordan River Banks instrumental. The whole album is fire, though, and was easily one of the top albums of 2013 for me. Check out the video and then peep my full review of the album. Don't sleep.

Chuck Strangers and Hus Kingpin - Hus Kingpin Meets Pro Era


Hempstead emcee Hus Kingpin teams up with Pro Era's Chuck Strangers as the two emcees drop their first collaborative project, "Hus Kingpin Meets Pro Era." The EP, which is mostly produced by Chuck Strangers himself, is real dope the whole way through and has me hoping for more collaborations from these two in the future. Wu-Tang Clan affiliate Trife Diesel just dropped the first release in his planned trilogy of EPs. The project is called "Diesel Fluid EP Part 1" and features the Theodore Unit emcee spitting fire over a variety of instrumentals. Trife has always been one of my favorite Wu affiliates, so its nice to hear some new material from him. Peep it below.

The Roots - When The People Cheer


Hip-hop group The Roots come through and deliver the first single off of their upcoming album "And Then You Shoot Your Cousin", which should be dropping in the next few months on Def Jam Recordings. The track is called "When The People Cheer" and features Black Thought and Greg Porn doing their thing over a laid back instrumental.

Henny B - God Bless (ft. Chris Cap)


Henny B comes through with the last drop before she releases her "Breathe Again" EP on April 8th, this time in the form of the cut "God Bless". The song features the Chicago emcee sharing the mic with Chris Cap over an ill King Mickey instrumental. Peep it below.

Ed Rowe and Concept - What's Goin On



Ed Rowe and Concept just dropped some visuals to go along with the track "What's Goin On", which is a select cut from their "Essenchill" album that was released back in August of 2013. The song features the Atlanta based Ed Rowe rapping about the ills of the world today over a smooth Concept instrumental. Injury Reserve - Black Sheep



Hip-hop trio Injury Reserve (which consists of emcees Ritchie with a T and Stepa J Groggs along with producer Parker Corey) come through with their old school inspired latest single, "Black Sheep". The song is the first release from their upcoming EP and its definintely got me looking forward to what else they have in store. Very nice.

Norman Dean - Blu Dreams



Norman Dean is back yet again, this time with some visuals for his single "Blu Dreams", which is a cut off of his upcoming Jazz-influenced EP. The song is real dope and features the Pittsburgh emcee kicking some rhymes over a jazzy sample with head nodding boom-bap drums. Very nice.

Chief Kamachi - A Decade Of Scars



Philly hip-hop veteran Chief Kamachi just dropped the latest video from his upcoming "Radio Raheem" album, which is set to be released on May 6, 2014 and is currently available for preorder over on his Bandcamp site. The visuals are for the track "Decade of Scars", which features the JuJu Mob emcee kicking some of his usual thought-provoking rhymes over a smooth LyricalLockness instrumental. Dope shit. Shinobi Stalin - Energon / Granite (Featuring Roc Marciano)



Orlando hip-hop artist Shinobi Stalin just released some visuals for his tracks "Energon" and "Granite", both of which are cuts off of his "Invisible Man" album that dropped back in January. The first track, "Energon", is the more energetic of the two and features Shinobi Stalin kicking some introspective rhymes over a dope Reeplay instrumental. "Granite", on the other hand, is much darker and features Stalin trading bars with one of my favorite emcees, Roc Marciano, over a Tempermental instrumental.

MindsOne and Kev Brown - Pop (feat. Homeboy Sandman)


MindsOne (consisting of emcees KON Sci and Tronic) and Low Budget Crew producer Kev Brown come through with the latest single from their recently released "Pillars" EP. The song is called "Pop" and features KON Sci, Tronic and guest Homeboy Sandman doing their thing over a laid back Kev Brown instrumental while DJ Noumenon provides some scratching into the chorus. "Pillars" was released on April 1st via Ill Adrenaline Records and is available for purchase on iTunes or Amazon.



The Cypher Effect - Recent Cypher Session and MIC Checks



 The Cypher Effect returns, this time with Season 3, Episode 2 of their cypher sessions as well as new "Mic Check" sessions from Artie McCraft and Kixxie Siete. The first video (above) is for the Cypher Effect session and features freestyles from Malathion, Namek, Jus L, Cadalack Ron, Pistol McFly, Aspect One and Lush One over an Aspect One instrumental.

Next up are the "Mic Check" sessions from Artie McCraft and Kixxie Siete, with Artie performing an unreleased song off his upcoming project and Kixxie performing his track "Fly Away", which is produced by Infameezy.



Randy Robbins - Somebody Else



Randy Robbins is an upcoming rapper/producer who recently dropped some visuals for his song "Somebody Else", which features the Washington State emcee spitting some positive rhymes about striving to be yourself over a smooth saxophone-based instrumental. He is currently putting the finishing touches on his upcoming EP, "The Grass is Always Yellower", which should be completed near the beginning of June.

Styles P comes through with the latest leak from his upcoming "Phantom and The Ghost" album, which is set to drop on April 29th.
