"There is Only Now" is the sixth album from legendary West Coast hip-hop group Souls of Mischief (consisting of emcees/producers Opio, A-Plus, Tajai and Phesto). The album features guest appearances from Busta Rhymes, Snoop Dogg, Scarub, Ali Shaheed Muhammed and William Hart and is produced entirely by prolific hip-hop producer Adrian Younge. It was released on August 26, 2014 via Linear Labs LLC.

Allen Poe - Sundazed (ft. Jalin Roze) (Video)

Kentucky rapper Allen Poe is back, this time with some visuals for the first single from his upcoming "How Gardens Grow" LP. The song is called "Sundazed" and features Allen Poe and Louisville emcee Jalin Roze spitting tales of summer love over a breezy Manifests Beats production with cuts by DJ Calcutta. "How Gardens Grow" is set to be released later this fall.

"The Beauty of Independence" is the latest EP from hip-hop group G-Unit (currently consisting of rappers 50 Cent, Young Buck, Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo and Kidd Kidd). The EP features no guest appearances but does feature production from Havoc, Lord Quest, Ryan "Ryu" Alexy and others. It was released on August 25, 2014 via G-Unit Records, Inc.

Dali Darko - Sleeping Dragon (Single)

Pittsburgh emcee Dali Darko is back yet again, this time with his latest track "Sleeping Dragon". The song is banging and features the 21-year old rapper spitting some hard ass rhymes over a beautiful B.eastcode production. This one is fire. Check it out below.



Darnell Little - XX (Album)

Darnell Little - XX (Essence of hip-hop)

Darnell Little just dropped a new project, titled "XX", back on August 19th and it's really nice. The project finds the 20 year old emcee spitting over a variety of instrumentals, from the experimental sounds of Flying Lotus to more boom-bap orientated productions from Pete Rock and Madlib. The beats are really dope and Darnell sounds great over them, alternating between straight up braggadocios bars to more personal and reflective rhymes on a few tracks. Overall, I'm really feelin' the project and highly recommend it. Peep it below.

Ugly Heroes - Ugly Heroes EP (Essence of Hip-Hop)

"Ugly Heroes EP" is the latest EP from hip-hop trio Ugly Heroes (which consists of hip-hop producer Apollo Brown and emcees Verbal Kent and Red Pill). The EP features guest appearances from Murs and DJ Eclipse as well as production from Oddisee, but mostly the entire project is produced by Apollo Brown himself. It was released on August 19, 2014 via Mellow Music Group.

SilentSomeone - Grey Skies (ft. John Robinson) (Video)



Bronx hip-hop producer SilentSomeone comes through with some visuals for the third single from his "I Have Company" album that dropped back in March. The song is called "Grey Skies" and finds New York veteran emcee John Robinson (who just dropped a dope album with PVD a few months back) doing his thing over a beautiful SilentSomeone production. "I Have Company" features guest appearances from Sadat X, Tame One, El Da Sensei and others and is available for purchase via the links below.



C.Shreve the Professor - Summer Ransom (Album)


North Carolina rapper C.Shreve The Professor just dropped his long awaited 10th full length release on August 14th and it's really dope. The album features production from ILe Flottante, Good Shepard, Handbook, Whokairs?, Soul Monk and others as well as guest verses from Woven Hatchets, Jrusalam, Trapbo' Chad and more. I gave the project a good listen today and was feelin' mostly every track on here, from the jazzy, soulful feel of "Blast Off" and "My Hemisphere" to the harder, grittier boom-bap vibe of "The Feast". Many of the instrumentals on the album have a summery feel and C.Shreve sounds great over them, effortlessly switching between boastful battle raps and some more introspective rhymes found on tracks like "The Professor". This one will be getting a lot of play from me this year. Don't sleep. Peep the full album below.



OSHUN - Gyenyame (Video)


OSHUN (comprised of NYU vocalists Niambi Sala and Thandiwe) recently dropped a video for their track "Gyenyame", which is a cut off of their "AFAHYE" EP that dropped back in March. The song is really nice and finds the duo doing their thing over MF DOOM's "High John" instrumental. "AFAHYE" features instrumentals from Tribe Called Quest, J. Dilla and MF DOOM and is available to stream below.





Reason - Hands Up (Single)



Brooklyn rapper Reason (who just dropped an ill video with Ceazar a few days back) comes through with his latest single "Hands Up". The song is dope and finds Reason spitting some boastful bars over an energetic ALLROUNDA Productions instrumental. If you are not familiar with Reason, he was featured on "The Brewery" off of Raekwon's "Unexpected Victory" mixtape and dropped a nice mixtape of his own back in 2013.

"What Goes Around" is the latest album from hip-hop producer Statik Selektah. The album features guest appearances from Ab-Soul, Lil Fame, Styles P, Talib Kweli, Black Thought, Joey Bada$$ and many others and is fully produced by Statik Selektah himself. It is set to be released on August 19, 2014 via Showoff Records / Duck Down Music.

Atlanta rapper Ed Rowe and Ukrainian hip-hop producer KVH just released the lead single from their upcoming EP "Reflective Melody" in the form of the track "Change". The song finds Ed Rowe speaking "for and from the souls of those fed up with police brutality, economic inequality, mass incarceration, and political corruption as a whole" over a somber KVH instrumental. Peep the track below and then hit up Ed Rowe's SoundCloud page to download the song for free if you are feelin' it. "Reflective Melody" is set to drop on September 5, 2014.




PScril - The People Vs The Pig (Single)


"The People Vs The Pig" is the latest track from PScril (which is an acronym for Possessing Skill Character & Righteousness In Life), who is a conscious rapper that has worked with Big Poo and has shared the stage with a variety of emcees such as Talib Kweli, BIG Krit, Immortal Technique, and more. The song is produced by Jaemix and features the Greenville, NC emcee trying to "help our younger generation focus on the positive aspects of life and at the same time educate them on the harsh reality of our surroundings." Nice.



Accent - Paper Game (ft. Skyzoo and Kinetics) (Video)



Accent just dropped some visuals for his track "Paper Game", which features the NYC hip-hop artist linking up with Skyzoo (who just dropped a crazy LP with Torae a few months back) and Kinetics over a dope Judge instrumental. The song is the first single off of Accent's upcoming "The Last Lyricist" project, which is coming later this fall.

Brooklyn emcee V. Nova is gearing up to drop his upcoming mixtape "Hidden In Plain Sight Volume 3: The New Commission" and has recently released both a single and a video from the project. The first is the single, which is called "Abstract Art" and features hip-hop legends Smif-N-Wessun with production from The Crack Factory. Next up is some visuals for "The New Commission", which is the intro track of the mixtape and also produced by The Crack Factory. "Hidden In Plain Sight Volume 3: The New Commission" is set to drop this September.

The album features a guest appearance from Portugal The Man as well as production from Ryan Hemsworth, Nick Leone and the Ruby Suns and others. It was released on August 12, 2014 via RPM MSC.

DJ Tekwun is back, this time with the latest drop from his upcoming "Cassette Music" album. The song is called "I Does This" and finds the Westchester County, NY producer/emcee sharing the mic with EL over a head nodding boom-bap instrumental. "Cassette Music" is set to feature hip-hop legends Sadat X and Ed O.G. (as well as others) and should be dropping in the near future. For now, peep the single below.

The Jazz Jousters - Connect The Dots (Instrumental Album)


Hip-hop production crew The Jazz Jousters are back, this time with their latest instrumental compilation called "Connect The Dots". The album experiments with the "sound of Jazz harp by Dorothy Ashby, the American Jazz and Soul Harpist and composer" and features instrumentals from RickMal, Diligent Fingers, Es-K, Gadget and many others. "The Soulution" is a collaborative album between South Florida based hip-hop duo Epidemic (consisting of emcees Hex One and Tek-nition) and Dutch hip-hop producer Tantu. The album features guest appearances from Fashawn and Johaz of Dag Savage and is fully produced by Tantu himself. It was released on August 5, 2014 via Mic Theory Records.

Graphik - Sunshowers (Video)



19 year old hip-hop artist Graphik recently dropped some ill visuals for his track "Sunshowers", which features the Frederick, MD native spitting over a J Rawls production. According to Graphik
"I wrote this song to motivate and inspire any and everyone going through hardships, whether they be personal or wide-spread obstacles. The world doesn't need to be as dark of a place that it's become, so I made this song to be a light."

Ceazar and Reason - Till Hell Freezes Over (Video)



Ceazar and Reason (aka. The Cartel), come through with the first drop from their upcoming "Double Dynasty" EP in the form of some visuals for the track "Till Hell Freezes Over". The song finds Brooklyn emcee Reason and Ice H20 hip-hop artist Ceazar doing their thing over a cinematic instrumental from Canadian hip-hop production team The Bakers Men. "Double Dynasty" is set to drop sometime later this year.

"Via Satellite" is a collaborative album between West Coast hip-hop veteran Planet Asia and Orlando-based producer TzariZM. The album features guest appearances from Killer Ben, Rock (of Heltah Skeltah), Oh No, Prodigal Sunn and others and is fully produced by TzariZM himself (except for one of the bonus remixes, which is produced by IMAKEMADBEATS). It was released on July 29, 2014 via Doxside Music Group.

C.Shreve the Professor - Dogfight (Single) and What It Do (Video)


C.Shreve the Professor is set to drop his "Summer Ransom" project on August 13 and decided to release a new track and video to hold everyone over until then. The first track is called "Dogfight" and finds the North Carolina emcee spitting some hard ass rhymes over a head nodding instrumental from Valence, France hip-hop producer ROMAINNN.




The second release is a video for the song "What It Do", which is produced by Soul Monk and was shot last week when C.Shreve opened for Three 6 Mafia in Asheville.



Apex Zero - Obtain Bearing (Video)



West London emcee Apex Zero just dropped a video for the final release from his ill "Reality Provoking Liberation" album that dropped last year in the form of the track "Obtain Bearing". The song finds Apex kicking some reflective rhymes about his inner struggles and about his drive to make a difference in the world over a mellow piano-based instrumental.
