Allen Poe - Shrines From Dust (Single)

Kentucky rapper Allen Poe is back again, this time with the third single from his upcoming "How Gardens Grow" album. The song is called "Shrines From Dust" and finds Allen Poe doing his thing over a head nodding Amerigo Gazaway production that puts a new spin on a sample I've heard a few times before. Dope shit. "How Gardens Grow" is set to be released mid October.

It was released on September 9, 2014 via 5th & Union.

J Live - Not Listening (Video)

J Live - Not Listening (Video)

Veteran New York emcee J-Live comes through with some visuals for his track "Not Listening", which is a select cut from his banging "Around The Sun" album that dropped earlier this year. The song is produced by Korede and finds J-Live addressing some of the bullshit that goes on in hip-hop nowadays. Just for the record, I fully agree with everything he is saying is saying on here. Peep the video, as well as the full album, below. Don't sleep.

Fab Soares - Get Down (Video)

Fab Soares - Get Down (Video)

London rapper Fab Soares is back again, this time with some visuals for his latest track "Get Down". The song is real nice and finds the UK emcee doing his thing over a head nodding boom-bap instrumental. I'm not exactly sure where this one is going to end up, but it's real nice so don't sleep. Peep it below.

Killah Priest - P.W.O.W.R.: The Lost Tracks (Review)

"P.W.O.W.R.: The Lost Tracks" is the latest official EP from Brooklyn emcee and Wu-Tang Clan affiliate Killah Priest. The EP was released as part of Priest's "The Psychic World of Walter Reed: Illuminated Lyrics" kickstarter project and has recently been made available to those who pledged certain amounts. The project is made up of lost tracks from Killah Priest's most recent album, "The Psychic World of Walter Reed".

Bub Styles - School Zone (prod. by Hannibal King) (Video)

Bub Styles - School Zone (prod. by Hannibal King) (Essence of Hip-Hop)

Brooklyn, NY rapper Bub Styles recently dropped a video for his first solo single "School Zone", which is produced by Queens-based hip-hop producer Hannibal King (who has produced for Mac Miller, Joey Badass, Casey Veggies and others). The song is banging and finds Bub Styles spitting fire over a head-nodding instrumental centered around the same sample used on Big Punisher's classic track "Boomerang". I've always wanted to hear someone flip that sample differently so it's really nice to hear Hannibal King's take on it. Anyways, the track is a cut off of Bub Styles' upcoming "Fatboy Sessions" mixtape, which should be out before the end of the year via Hannibal's Villains imprint.

Chin and Peezy - 90's Babies (Video)

Chin and Peezy - 90's Babies (Essence of Hip-Hop)

Fountain Of Youth artists Chin and Peezy just dropped some visuals for the latest release off of their "The Minds Eye" project that dropped last year. The video is for one of my favorite tracks on the album, "90's Babies", and finds the duo coming correct over a head-nodding Kixnare instrumental with a great "Golden Era" vibe to it. Peep the video, as well as the full album, below.

EK - Lost Boys Of Sudan (Single)

EK - Lost Boys Of Sudan (Essence of Hip-Hop)

Boston rapper Daniel "EK" Ibeh is back, this time with his latest track "Lost Boys of Sudan". The song finds EK touching on his African roots and rapping about the child soldiers that are fighting in Darfur/Sudan over a Bueffard Mallary production. The lyrics are vivid and poignant and hopefully will bring more awareness to this tragedy. Peep it below.

Mike L!Ve - It's Alive and Free Yourself (Videos)

North Carolina rapper Mike L!VE is a part of the hip-hop duo Woven Hatchets (out of Tuscon), a member of the Raleigh-based rap collective 1100 Hunters and is now the latest official member of Free the Optimus (of which member C.Shreve just dropped his crazy "Summer Ransom" project). Mike (who has three tracks on "Summer Ransom") just dropped some visuals for his back to back singles "It's Alive" and "Free Yourself" and both are nice. Peep them below.

Aslan - Paradox (Video)

Aslan - Paradox (Essence of Hip-Hop)

UK based rapper/producer Aslan comes through with some visuals for the final installment in his "Paradox" trilogy, which is taken from a three track 12 inch that is available via his website. The song is actually the title track off of the project and is a joint production by Snake vs Crane and Aslan himself. As on the other two tracks, the production is dark and Aslan rips it. Check out the video for "Paradox" below (along with the previously released visuals for "Epitaph" and "Rise Up", which make up the full EP when combined). Very dope.
