Merc Versus - Magnetic (Mixtape)

Merc Versus just released his free 21-track "Magnetic" mixtape over on DatPiff a few days ago after months of dropping singles as part of his #MonthlyMagnetic series. The mixtape is really nice and features guest appearances from Chief Kamachi, Sleep Sinatra, Verbal Godz and others as well as production from Lord Chain, Blue Sky Black Death, Ayatollah, Large Professor and many others. G.O.D. Father PtIII (Infamous Mobb) and DJ Science - Godz & Kingz (Mixtape)


Godfather Pt III (of Infamous Mobb) and DJ Science come through with their latest mixtape, "Godz & Kingz", which just dropped yesterday over on DatPiff.com. The tape features 41 tracks (to symbolize the 41st Side) from Queensbridge legends Mobb Deep, Infamous Mobb, Kool G Rap, Tragedy Khadafi, Blaq Poet and many others. There is a lot of material on here and some of it I've heard before, but the majority was actually new to me (which is always a good thing). Peep it below.



Benjo - BenFLOW (Mixtape)

Benjo is a 16 year old emcee who dropped his latest mixtape, "BenFLOW", back on February 7th, 2014. The project features the Maryland rapper kicking rhymes over a variety of classic instrumentals from producers such as DJ Premier and Nujabes to more original production from $keleton and OTM. Currensy - The Drive In Theatre (Mixtape)

Currensy just blessed us with his latest mixape, "The Drive In Theatre", which you can stream or download via the DatPiff link below. The mixtape features guest appearances from Action Bronson, Le$, B-Real (of Cypress Hill), Freddie Gibbs, Fiend, Smoke DZA and others as well as production from Thelonious Martin, Cardo, Cookin' Soul and others. I haven't given it a full listen yet, but what I have heard was fire.

Moss Da Beast - SoulMate (Review)

"SoulMate" is the latest mixtape from Nashville by way of Chicago emcee Moss Da Beast. The mixtape features guest appearances from ST 2 Lettaz, Yella Tha OG, Truey Lewis and others as well as production from Bandplay, BlockBeattaz, Mac Reid and others. It was released on January 8, 2014 over on LiveMixtapes.com.

Darnell Little - LittleLotus (Darnell Little x Flying Lotus)

Darnell Little is back, this time with his latest mixtape, "LittleLotus", which is his take on Flying Lotus' "Cosmogramma" album. I've given "Cosmogramma" quite a bit of play since it first came out so it's really nice to hear these reworked versions of the songs. Dope shit. Check it out below.

Busta Rhymes and Q-Tip - The Abstract and The Dragon (Mixtape)

Busta Rhymes and A Tribe Called Quests Q-Tip released a new mixtape yesterday over on Livemixtapes.com. The tape is called "The Abstract & The Dragon" and had me thinking that it was going to be all new material, but it turns out to be mostly remixes of older songs with a few new tunes sprinkled in. Regardless, the new tracks are fire and the older tracks are dope as hell. Hopefully we get a full EP of original tracks or something from them in the near future. Check it out below.

CJ Trillo - Volume 1: Nostalgia

Chino Hills emcee CJ Trillo stops by with his latest mixtape, "Volume 1: Nostalgia", which was released on November 5, 2013 and is actually his fourth mixtape. I gave the project a listen earlier today and was impressed. The beats are consistently dope throughout the tape and CJ Trillo's delivers lyrically with clever rhymes and a smooth flow on each track. Junoflo - Soul Season (Mixtape)

San Diego by way of Fullerton, CA emcee Junoflo recently put me on to his latest mixtape, "Soul Season", that he dropped back in late November 2013. I gave the mixtape a good listen and its really ill, combining Junoflo's witty lyricism and smooth delivery with West Coast inspired instrumentals from Inphy, Nubbz, Freddie Joachim, Bahwee, SoulChef and more. Serial Killers (B Real of Cypress Hill, Xzibit and Demrick) - Wanted (Video)

Serial Killers is a group consisting of Cypress Hill emcee B Real and Los Angeles emcees Xzibit and Demrick who just dropped their first mixtape, "Serial Killers, Vol. 1", back on October 31, 2013. The group recently released the second video from the project, "Wanted", which you can check out below. Dope shit.

Jovie - Brand Name (Mixtape)

Detroit emcee Jovie released his second project, "Brand Name", back in early September, but I just recently had a chance to check it out. The mixtape is dope and presents a modern take on that old school, boom-bap sound that is reminiscent of the Golden Era of hip-hop. Check out the video for the single, "G-Thang", as well as the full mixtape below.



O'Third Mafia and Friends - On Our Own (Mixtape)

"On Our Own" is the latest mixtape from O’Third Entertainment, which consists of members Zilla and Monster as well as new members Bama Starz and Eric Echoes. The project also includes other up and coming artists that are extended family to O’Third such as TC Gambino (Huntsville), Kingsley (Huntsville), Grilly (Huntsville) and Jay Dot Rain (Tuscaloosa). Ces - Peer Review (Mixtape)

Up-and-coming emcee Ces returns with his latest mixtape, "Peer Review". The mixtape is billed as "a peer review of hip hop and the generation it influences" and its pretty dope. Check it out below.

Grilly - Pour Up A Player (Mixtape) and Zilla - Book of Trill (EP)

I got a couple of Block Beattaz releases for you today. The first is from Huntsville, AL rapper Grilly in the form of his latest mixtape, "Pour Up A Player", which is entirely produced by Mali Boi of the Block Beattaz. It's no surprise that the beats on here are banging and Grilly's smooth flow sounds great over them. Check it out below.



Next up is the "Book of Trill" EP by another Huntsville emcee, Zilla. The EP is full of lush, trunk-rattling Block Beattaz instrumentals as Zilla spits honest rhymes about his life growing up in Alabama. Dope shit.

Ceazar - Render The Throne (Hosted by Raekwon)

"Render The Throne" is the latest mixtape from Raekwon and ICEH2O Records emcee Ceazar.
The mixtape is hosted by DJ Whoo Kid and features appearances from Raekwon, Fred The Godson, Scram Jones, JD Era, JoJo Pellegrino, Aye Wun and others. Below is the video for "The Brewery" (which features a verse from Raekwon) as well as the full mixtape link from DatPiff.com. South Florida emcee Platini returns with his latest mixtape, "O.T.D (Off The Dome) Volume 1." The mixtape finds Platini teaming up with GoWhereHipHop.com to show off his freestyle skills over a series of classic instrumentals.

Pittsburgh emcee A-V is back, this time with his full mixtape "Bite the Bullet."
